About the Foundation
Founded by Richard T. Naples, Sr., entrepreneur and founder of Wholesale Fireworks, the Foundation is committed to investing in the future of local students.
Since 1998, the program has:
- Awarded 700+ scholarships
- Provided over $660,000 in funding
Each year, the Foundation awards:
- 30 scholarships
- $1,000 each
Mr. Naples established this perpetual scholarship fund to help young adults defray a portion of the costs of higher education. The program supports not only students attending colleges and universities, but also those pursing institutues for fine and performing arts, trade schools and vocational programs.
A Family Commitment to Education
Today, the Foundation is led by Mr. Naples’ family members, who serve on the Board of Trustees and remain deeply committed to his vision of supporting higher education.
For more than 45 years, Wholesale Fireworks has been in business, employing many area high school and college students. Mr. Naples strongly believed that businesses should play an active role in fostering the education of young people.

Who Can Apply?
Scholarships are open to:
- High school seniors and college students in Trumbull, Mahoning and Stark Counties (Ohio)
- Students with a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Applicants planning to attend:
- Traditional Colleges & Universities
- Institutes for Fine & Performing Arts
- Trade Schools
- Vocational Training Programs
Scholarships are awarded based on information provided by both the student and their guidance counselor.
How to Apply?
Application Deadline: March 31 (annually)
- Download & print the correct application.
- Complete & sign all sections.
- Have a Notary Public complete Section 1B (bring family W-2s).
- Income is based on household income, not the student's income alone. Unless the student lives independently and is fully self-supporting.
- Free notary services are often available at banks and libraries.
- Review for accuracy and signatures.
- Submit application and letters of recommendation (must be postmarked by April 18th) to:

Avoid Disqualification
Applications will be rejected if:
- Any sections are incomplete.
- Required signatures (student or advisor) are missing.
- Notary section is not completed.
- Deadline is missed.
- Letters of recommendation do not include:
- Student's name
- Home address
- School Name
